Mezza Lebanese Kitchen

For over 25 years, Mezza Lebanese restaurants have provided a fast, healthy and affordable Lebanese experience to its customers. The Mezza Lebanese Restaurant Group accommodates dine-in, take-out, delivery, late-night, corporate and party catering in a fast-casual environment. It has also earned a solid reputation for broadening dining options for its guests, including being the first to introduce shawarmas to Atlantic Canada in 1997.

Mezza’s history began in 1990 when the family patriarch, Elias Nahas, moved his family to Halifax, Nova Scotia where he opened their first restaurant location, which remains in the Halifax Shopping Centre today. Currently, there are eight Mezza locations worldwide between Canada and the Middle East. Franchising has begun with planned expansion throughout Canada and the Middle East.

Mezza is scalable in its operations, with locations ranging from 500 sq. ft. to 2,000 sq. ft in high volume traffic areas such as food courts and stand-alone restaurants with seating for 30-40 guests.

MEZZA PROVIDES FRANCHISEES WITH THE FOLLOWING…

Before you open

Site Selection
Mezza helps all franchisees with finding the proper site for their franchise. They assist in recognizing areas that are high in volume and traffic, and ready for this style of restaurant.

Lease Approval
Knowing how to negotiate a lease is critical to the long-term success of a franchisee. Mezza’s head office will help with the approval process by fully executing the lease and providing a sublease to franchisees, which provides experienced solutions to any potential issues.

Initial Training and Grand Opening Support
Mezza’s initial two-week franchisee training begins at Mezza’s in-house training facility. Once the franchisee’s facility is ready, there will be a three-week training period to ensure all equipment and leaseholds are up to Mezza standard and operating at optimal efficiency.

Other Initial Support
Mezza provides legal, financial and administrative support during the initial launch to ensure that all franchisees begin their operation with a proper foundation.

Approved Suppliers
Mezza provides franchisees with a list of suppliers who have been approved by head office to ensure the highest in quality equipment and product.

Operations Manual
Mezza will provide a how-to guide on its policies and procedures and operating standards, including management documents, food preparation and ordering, inventory and financial controls, equipment operation and maintenance.

After you open

Ongoing Training and Support
A Mezza head office employee will visit your site on a monthly basis to provide ongoing training and support. Any questions you have regarding ordering, repairs or training can be directed to one of Mezza’s experienced head office employees.

Suggested Retail Prices
Mezza provides all franchisees with a suggested retail menu that is tailored to their specific area and location. This ensures that all sites are profitable and maintain a certain profit margin by following a suggested retail pricing.

Location Performance

Mezza will provide financial performance representations in our pro-forma. However, profitability will depend considerably upon the franchisees ability to manage the day-to-day operations and finances. External factors specific to each location such as occupancy, local store marketing costs, labour costs and the potential for sales will also affect overall success. Mezza will require all interested franchisees to complete a franchise application form, including information such as business experience, available capital, financing needs, partners, personal balance sheet, references and preferred locations.
