Welcome to Mezza Lebanese Kitchen, the culinary creation of two brothers who live and breathe the exotic world of Lebanese cuisine. Mezza is owned and operated by Tony and Peter Nahas. Both have established themselves as entrepreneurs in the quick-service food industry by currently owning and operating several successful food service businesses in Nova Scotia. Tony, an expert chef and construction guru and Peter, a finance and marketing maven have built an incredible brand that shows no signs of slowing.

For 30 years, their restaurants have provided a fast, healthy, and affordable middle-eastern experience for its customers. Mezza Lebanese Kitchen accommodates dine-in, take-out, delivery, late-night, corporate and party catering in a fast-casual environment.There are currently 14 locations between Canada and the Middle East.

Mezza’s brand has become recognized as one of the largest and fastest growing Lebanese restaurant chains in Canada, with food, décor and an overall welcoming atmosphere that underlines their brand motto:

First and foremost, we are a Canadian brand that supports Canadian farmers and producers. Our chicken is grain-fed, contains no steroids, hormones, or preservatives. Our chicken is marinated in house using our secret, generations-old family recipe transforming it into Our Signature! Chicken Shawarma and Chicken Souvlaki. We cook our irresistible Chicken Shawarma on a rotisserie and shave thinly sliced pieces of chicken and use immediately for our wraps, bowls, plates, and poutines. Our mouth-watering Chicken Souvlaki is cubed and skewered then cooked to perfection on a fire-grill.

Our Donairs are made of 100% ground beef from Prince Edward Island. They’re spiced using our perfected spice-blend maintaining their authenticity to their roots. We cook them on our rotisserie and the meat is thinly sliced and served hot with tomatoes, onions and sweet Donair sauce.

Mezza’s reputation has a lot to do with our focus- or obsession- with freshness. Our produce, when possible is sourced locally and our secret blend of spices are sourced directly from Lebanon to give us the most authentic taste.

Classroom and hands-on training. Mezza franchising offers an intensive training program teaching the skills necessary to become a successful Mezza franchise. You’ll learn skills in marketing, managing food, and labour costs to ensure you’re maximizing your profitability. The intensive training program ensures that even individuals who do not have retail or restaurant experience will receive the tools, knowledge and training to become a successful franchise.

Our head office team includes professionals in real estate, marketing, restaurant design, franchising, operations, accounting, and human resources. Our team represents an impressive amount of experience and we are ready, willing, and able to lend our expertise to our franchisees.

Volume Buying Power

Mezza Franchising is able to secure lower prices for its franchisees by negotiating for discounts and services from national vendors, allowing you more time to focus on your restaurant. Our products are purchased directly from our approved suppliers and distributors ensuring product consistency throughout all locations.

Marketing & Advertising Support

Our Mezza marketing department provides you with marketing training, a user-friendly marketing manual, promotions, and merchandising assistance. Upon joining as a franchisee, you will receive immediate assistance in developing and executing an opening advertising strategy and ongoing advertising maintenance strategy focusing on your local restaurant market to drive immediate sales. The marketing department also coordinates seasonal campaigns that are designed to attract and retain customers.

Ongoing Support

As a Mezza Franchisee you will receive on-going operational and marketing support, restaurant visits, and on-site training. Members of our corporate team will visit frequently in order to make suggestions, analyze your business, maintain system compliance, answer your questions, and obtain your feedback.

Mezza believes in staying ahead of the curve when it comes to the latest technologies. For instance, by installing tablets in every store we can develop an experience around the brand with online ordering and loyalty rewards points. We also have an ongoing video training series for management and staff members in order for us to stay on top of proper techniques, portioning, new menu items, and more. We go the extra mile to innovate our business which helps every franchisee reach their full potential.

Family Focused Store Design

Mezza is scalable in its operations, with models ranging from 400 to 2500 sq. ft. in high volume traffic areas. Mezza operates from two types of store models:


Our street-front Model ranges from 1000-2000 sq. ft. with seating for upwards of 40 people. Our Storefront Models are suitable for downtown cores and commercial strip malls in suburban communities.


Our Food Court Model which ranges from 400-500 sq. ft. which are tailored for shopping malls, recreation centres, universities, hospitals, and airports.

Once your application form is received, a member of the franchise team will reach out to discuss your application and chat about your options.


You will be sent our Franchise Disclosure Document to learn more about our company and our franchise system.


You should visit the locations, enjoy delicious food and imagine what it would be like to join Mezza’s growing team. Do your due diligence and obtain legal and financial advice regarding the Mezza franchise.


Mezza will arrange an in-depth meeting to ensure this is a right fit for both parties. Come prepared with any and all questions. This is the time to get to know each other.


Two weeks after receiving our Franchise Disclosure Document, you will be able to sign our franchise agreement and pay the franchisee fee, which begins the franchising process.


You’ll locate your ideal location and then Mezza will do a site visit to evaluate its potential. Once the site is secured and training is scheduled, construction begins and, upon completion of construction, your new restaurant opens for business!
